In the UK we own and operate the Thanet, Kentish Flats & Edinbane wind farms, are a long way through the construction of the 150MW Ormonde project, are planning an extension to our Kentish Flats wind farm and are involved in a proposed offshore wind demonstration centre in Aberdeen. In our East Anglia Offshore Wind joint venture with ScottishPower Renewables, we have been granted the rights to develop the Round 3 Zone 5 located off East Anglia, it being East Anglia Offshore Wind’s intention to develop up to 7,200MW of offshore wind capacity. We also have a portfolio of onshore wind development projects at a variety of stages in the development process in Scotland & the North of England including the recently consented Clashindarroch and Ray Wind Farms.

Overall Purpose of Role:
As our Offshore Wind business continues to grow, we are looking to increase the size of our commercial team with the hire of 2 Commercial Project Managers.

The roles will provide additional commercial / contracting expertise to the East Anglia Offshore Wind joint venture with ScottishPower Renewables.  Successful candidates are likely to be procurement / commercial / supply chain / contract management / legal specialists.
 
Responsibilities:

Responsibility for all contracting matters in the East Anglia Offshore Wind joint venture from “cradle” to “grave” including:

· Strategy – in conjunction with relevant operations people.
· Tender/bid management.
· Negotiation and award – including drafting of contracts.
· Administration.
· Forecast: short and long range plans.
· Change management: instructions, variations and amendments.
· Governance: process and procedures.
· Governance: delegated authorities and audits.
· Dispute management.

Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will be of graduate level or equivalent in a general engineering, technical or commercial qualification. Membership of a professional body such as RICS or CIPS is preferred but not essential.

Experience:
· Candidates for this post will have a broad based technical background and first class commercial and business development skills.
· Supply chain, logistics and/or commercial management experience will have been gained in complex roles including joint ventures and large capital projects. 
· Although competence will preferably have been gained in a renewables and/or offshore environment, applicants could be from other highly regulated industries (e.g. rail, oil and gas, nuclear, chemical).

Skills, knowledge, strengths:
· Must be able to work on their own initiative and as part of team. Acknowledging the challenges of the team being split between two or more geographical areas but embracing it as a challenge by playing their part in growing a cohesive team with a positive approach.
· Someone who will challenge and engage, always alert to better ways of doing things.
· Someone with a proactive approach, who is a good planner - but won’t be unnerved by ad hoc work that appears at short notice.
· Excellent communication skills both verbally and in written English.
· Significant, demonstrable leadership and management skills.
· Ability to lead and/or work within multi-cultural teams.
· Eye for detail.
· Be results-oriented, able to meet tight deadlines and produce concise information for senior management.

Location: London. The role may require travelling within the UK and Europe.
